Welcome Baby Ava Noelle Russell

Posted by Kevin on October 17th, 2007

Baby Ava Noelle RussellBaby Ava Noelle Russell was born on October 6th (Sat) at 7:48am to the proud parents Kristi and Kevin Russell.

Here are the all important details on our new precious gift from God:

8 pounds 6 ounces
21 inches long

She's been eating very well and sleeping a lot - which most new babies do!  We're really enjoying her a lot - and Logan doesn't know what to think yet - but we think he likes her as well!

Sorry we've been delayed on the posting as of lately.  I'm sure everyone who's had a newborn baby can relate to not having time to do the 'extra' things you used to do!  :)

Please click Baby Ava's picture to the left of this posting to go view the official hospital pictures!  You can then click 'View Slideshow' on the left-hand side to view all the pictures at once.  The hospital webnusery has been having problems, but please post us a comment if you can get that to work as well.  Here is the direct link to that:

http://www.our365.com/webnursery/webnursery/Baby/BabyPageDirect.aspx?CID=0017444417

We hope all of you are doing well - and we'll be posting more pictures and video soon of Baby Ava and Logan!

** UPDATED* Second Baby Russell 20-week Ultrasound - plus new Logan Pictures

Posted by Kevin on June 14th, 2007

Hi all,

** UPDATE **:  I fixed the video problem with not being able to 'move forward' or see how much time was left in the video.  You may now drag the time slider-bar forward in the video (once enough of the video loads).

Okay - hopefully I haven't inundated everyone with too much 'Jericho' information lately.  Needless to say, it's a wonderful show that can be watched with the whole family - and will keep you on the edge of your seat.  See what the largest show cancellation protest in TV history was all about when it re-airs starting with the First Season on Fridays this Summer starting July 6th, 2007 at 8pm CST (9pm EST).  7 new episodes will follow not long after that - possibly at the first of the year - but I'll post back when they officially announce it.

IMG_4390.JPGNew pictures of Logan at 11-months:
We finally got time also to post pictures of Logan at 11 months from around June 1st.  Logan has grown a lot - and is crawling and pulling up on things very well!  Most say he looks like his momma right now - which probably isn't a bad thing!  Just click the picture to the left of this to view the new photo album.  Best way to view all the pictures is to click the picture on the left - then click 'View Slideshow' when the album comes up.

Now for more good stuff:  I also finally got a chance to convert and upload the 20-week ultrasound video of the second Baby Russell that is due in October.  You can't see a lot at first - but it gets better shortly after that.  Plus - at the end - you can see baby stick it's thumb in it's mouth.  And some of you may already know - but this baby is a baby girl!

(you can see this at around 8min 30secs into the video)

Just click in the middle of the video to start playing.  You may also click the small 'square' icon next to the volume below the video to make it 'full-screen'.  (then press your ESC key when done viewing)

Hope you enjoy - and please let us hear from you via the comments!  We'd love to hear from you!

JERICHO, CBS's drama about how residents of a small, peaceful, Kansas town band together to survive in the wake of a nuclear explosion, will return to the Network beginning Friday, July 6 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT).  Rebroadcasts of episodes from the first season will air in the Friday, 9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT time period for the remainder of the summer.

JERICHO, which last week received a seven episode mid-season order following an impassioned display of fan support, will return on July 6 with a rebroadcast of the pilot episode.

On July 13, CBS will present back-to-back broadcasts beginning with "Return to Jericho" (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), which recapped the first 11 episodes, followed by episode 12, "The Day Before" (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT), which launched "Jericho's" spring return.

The remaining summer broadcasts will consist of episodes 13–22, in which tensions continue to escalate between Jericho and the neighboring town of New Bern as they battle the Kansas winter, dwindling resources and the uncertainty of a new world. The citizens of Jericho must now find a way to unite against these hardships, working together to preserve their community and their way of life as they prepare for an all out battle for survival in the season finale.

Jon Turteltaub, Stephen Chobsky and Carol Barbee are executive producers of JERICHO for CBS Paramount Network Television.

Nuts Save Jericho

Posted by Kevin on June 6th, 2007

WE DID IT!

40,000 pounds of nuts later, and after the largest grass-roots campaign to save a television show ever, an official announcement was made today by Nina Tassler, President of CBS Entertainment:

Fans, and new possible fans of the show, 7 new episodes have been ordered - but to survive - you need to help watch the show LIVE - and through CBS.COM/jericho on ‘Innertube’.  This summer, CBS will be airing the entire season 1 - so please watch for details on this.  Season 2 will probably air around the first of next year (2008).  According to the show’s producers, shooting for Season 2 will start in about 4-5 weeks from now.  Also, the entire Season 1 DVD set should go on sale around September 25th - so watch for that.  We will of course post details as they become available.

The fight isn’t over - but looks much more promising now.  Keep spreading the word - and most of all - ENJOY THE SHOW!

Below is a message from CBS Entertainment.

June 6, 2007

To the Fans of Jericho:

Wow!

Over the past few weeks you have put forth an impressive and probably unprecedented display of passion in support of a prime time television series. You got our attention; your emails and collective voice have been heard.

As a result, CBS has ordered seven episodes of “Jericho” for mid-season next year.  In success, there is the potential for more. But, for there to be more “Jericho,” we will need more viewers.

A loyal and passionate community has clearly formed around the show.  But that community needs to grow.   It needs to grow on the CBS Television Network, as well as on the many digital platforms where we make the show available.

We will count on you to rally around the show, to recruit new viewers with the same grass-roots energy, intensity and volume you have displayed in recent weeks.

At this time, I cannot tell you the specific date or time period that “Jericho” will return to our schedule.  However, in the interim, we are working on several initiatives to help introduce the show to new audiences.  This includes re-broadcasting “Jericho” on CBS this summer, streaming episodes and clips from these episodes across the CBS Audience Network (online), releasing the first season DVD on September 25 and continuing the story of Jericho in the digital world until the new episodes return. We will let you know specifics when we have them so you can pass them on.

On behalf of everyone at CBS, thank you for expressing your support of “Jericho” in such an extraordinary manner.  Your protest was creative, sustained and very thoughtful and respectful in tone.  You made a difference.

Sincerely,

Nina Tassler

President, CBS Entertainment

P.S.      Please stop sending us nuts  :)

Fans efforts may have saved ‘Jericho’

Posted by Kevin on June 6th, 2007

JerichoWell, as they always say, 'don't count your chickens before they hatch' - but it looks like our efforts to resurrect the cancelled CBS drama 'Jericho' - my favorite show - may have worked.

After 40,000+ pounds of peanuts sent to CBS Headquarters in NY and LA, a full-page ad in both the Daily Variety and Hollywood Reporter entertainment-sector magazines, and thousands upon thousands of calls and letters to CBS - it looks like it MIGHT have paid off.

Check out this blog article on the LA Times website from today (06/05/07) - with an interview with Carol Barbee - Executive Producer of 'Jericho'.

We're keeping fingers crossed - and I'll update on here if something official comes out from CBS themselves soon.

With all this effort spent to save this great show, please give this show a watch IF it does come back.  And you can watch full episodes of Season 1 now at http://cbs.com/jericho. I promise you won't be disappointed.  It's very family-oriented - very gripping - and very addictive.  Be prepared to be entertained.

Also, on a family note, Kristi and I have our 5-month doctor's appointment tomorrow - so please keep us and Baby Russell in your thoughts and prayers for a healthy baby.

Thanks - and we'll post back soon.   Kevin

**UPDATE** CBS cancels hit show ‘Jericho’ - fans respond by saying ‘NUTS! to CBS’

Posted by Kevin on May 24th, 2007

UPDATE: Well perisistence pays off. When I spoke with Daren Bobb from KFSM 5 News today, I linked him to the NUTSONLINE.COM website, the WCBS-TV article by the CBS 2 New York affiliate, and also gave him the number for Nutsonline CEO Jeffrey Braverman to interview about the Save Jericho Campaign. Many thanks to Daren Bobb for airing this story tonight (05/24/07) on the 10pm nightly news in their Top Stories. Help join the fight at http://www.jericholives.com.

Also meant to mention, I was interviewed and quoted by the national website ABCNews.com by reporter Scott Mayerowitz regarding the ‘Save Jericho’ Nuts Campaign.  Check out that article here:
http://abcnews.go.com/Business/FunMoney/story?id=3214156&page=1&Business=true

Here is the Youtube video of the ‘Save Jericho’ Nuts story on our local KFSM 5 News posted by a fellow Jericho fan ‘Keith Hocott’ from our area. Enjoy!

JerichoHey everyone,

I know it’s been awhile since we’ve posted any pictures of Logan or the family - but I felt like I had to say something about this topic.

Whether you’ve heard or not, or have seen the show, the hit CBS television show ‘Jericho’ was cancelled on May 16th after running for 22 amazing episodes this season.  It is a show about a post-apocalyptic town of Jericho, Kansas - that has to survive and come together after someone has attacked multiple major US cities with nuclear bombs.  CBS claims that viewership ‘dropped’ after it returned from a mid-season hiatus that left it off the air for over 10 weeks with no re-runs or advertisement.

To make a long story short, millions of fans - including myself and my wife - are very upset that they’ve pulled the show off the air - even though it still had 9 million plus viewers according to the ‘Nielsen’ ratings system - versus it’s original 11 million plus viewers it had before the 10-week mid-season break.  However, as many fans have noted, the Nielsen ratings don’t take well into account the number of viewers that either watched the show after recording it to DVR - or by watching it online through Innertube for free at CBS’s website or through iTunes.

CBS also left the show in it’s original timeslot of Wednesday at 8pm EST/7pm CST against tv juggernaut American Idol - even though they showed ‘declining ratings’ - and didn’t attempt to change it’s schedule to avoid this.  ABC’s show ‘LOST’ was also running against American Idol after their mid-season break - but ABC decided to move the show to avoid a ratings blunder and help the show.

To make matters worse, CBS left fans thinking that the last episode of the season was a ’season finale’ - and not a ’series finale’ - and left everyone with a major cliffhanging ending with the town of Jericho in a gunfight between a rival town - with the current military sweeping in with helicoptors and tanks to aid or break-up the fight.

Fans of the show, including myself, are outraged that CBS has done this - and have joined in a campaign to send actual NUTS to CBS Headquarters in New York - in protest of the show being cancelled.  ‘Nuts’ is a phrase the main character Jake Green played by Skeet Ulrich used in the last episode of the season in reference to a World War II battle cry from the Battle of the Bulge.  Their response to the enemy - and Jake’s response to the rival town - of surrendering was ‘NUTS’ - meaning - ‘you’re nuts - we’re not going down without a fight’.

First day of nut deliveries, check out the 1000 pounds of nuts on 05/22 (Tue):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yoxePewKK8o

Then check out the third delivery of over 5000 pounds (yes 5000!) of nuts via UPS and hand-delivered by Nutsonline.com CEO Jeffrey Braverman again to CBS Headquarters in New York on 05/24 (Thu):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AL6a4GmN5rw

Daren Bobb from KFSM 5 news in Fort Smith contacted me earlier today about the story - and 5newsonline.com is running a web poll about the ‘Cancellation of Jericho’.

Please help show your support by going on their website at http://www.5newsonline.com and voting for the show!

You can also read all about the NUTS story directly on http://www.nutsonline.com/jericho  - and also by reading the article that WCBS Channel 2 of New York posted on their wesbite fully explaining the campaign:  http://wcbstv.com/topstories/local_story_143105458.html

Help join in the Save Jericho fight by visiting http://www.jericholives.com and http://www.jerichorallypoint.com.  Also check out and participate in the CBS message boards at http://www.cbs.com/jericho - and click on the link that says ‘Message Boards’.  Tell network TV that you’re tired of it canceling the shows that WE, the viewers, want to watch!

If you haven’t seen this great show, you can go on CBS’s website at http://www.cbs.com/jericho and watch full episodes of the show.  I suggest you watch the last episode ‘Why We Fight’ for some very compelling story.

Thanks in advance for your support - and help us SAVE JERICHO - and bring it back for a second season!

New pictures from Halloween and Christmas 2006

Posted by kristirussell on January 21st, 2007

Logan with Santa ClausHello everyone!  Well, it has been some time since we have posted any pictures of Baby Logan - so, as you can imagine, he has grown a lot!!  He is starting to show his little personality – he giggles at us and smiles at the dogs too.  It is so funny to watch him do all these things.

We have now posted some new pictures in the photo gallery.  We have pictures from October of 2006 (Halloween) and Christmas 2006 (Logan & Santa).  Some of our Halloween pictures are from our trip to Cane Creek in Star City, Arkansas.  Logan dressed as a pumpkin while Mommy & Daddy dressed as tavern keepers.  It was a lot of fun!  The Christmas pictures were taken with Santa at the Clayton House in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

As always, the best way to view the pictures is to click on the photo album to open that album – then click ‘View Slideshow’ to have it show all the pictures one-by-one.

Enjoy the pictures!

Baby Is Here!

Posted by Kevin on July 10th, 2006

1S4S5K9I7R_6.jpgLogan Michael Russell was born on July 5th @ 5:16pm at Saint Edward Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Baby Logan had been scheduled to be induced after the Friday, June 23rd appointment - since he was showing to be already over 9 pounds at 36-37 weeks.  So on the scheduled induction date of July 5th, and after much, much effort (1 hour and 45 minutes of pushing) from a tireless and wonderful mommy, Baby Logan was finally born via ‘c-section’.

Here are the all important specs from new baby:

Born: 07-05-2006
Birth Time: 5:16 pm
@ St. Edward Mercy Medical Center
Weight: 9 lbs 3 oz
Length: 21.5 in.

Baby Logan and Mommy are doing great - and Mommy is recovering well from surgery.  Kristi and I are truly blessed with this beautiful gift from God - and please continue to keep Kristi and Logan in your thoughts and prayers.

Logan was a long and big little man - and we are truly enjoying him - albeit the lack of sleep that goes along with having a new little one.

For now, I’m posting a link to the hospital web nursery site where you can view Baby Logan in his cute hospital pictures (click the ‘http’ link below).  More will follow .. with some pictures and actual video from the hospital (none of the actual birth of course :) ).

http://www.growingfamily.com/webnursery/babypage_view.asp?URLID=1S4S5K9I7R

Please leave us a comment as we’d love to hear from you!!!
